New job

So it's my third week on my new job. I am learning a lot and enjoying it so far. It's very different working from home. Has a lot of advantages. I can keep up with my housework which is a major plus. I can stop and snack on healthy food whenever I feel the need. I am in my comfort zone. My office can reflect whatever I want.
It takes motivation and dedication to work from home. Get up at the same time and don't sleep in (anymore) and just work. No TV, no distractions, etc.
I hope that I do a good job for my company and that they are satisfied with my work.
I aspire to accomplish great things.

I was so nervous to start working again, after 17 months of being a housewife. That sounds bad. It will be nice to contribute to the household financially. I won't feel like a costly burden anymore. I prefer not to rely on someone else for money; not when I am more than capable to make my own. I have been working since I was 13 yrs old. Started in the kitchen at my family Lodge. Waited tables, washed dishes, etc. In the summers I cleaned cabins, did laundry and helped guests with their requests.
When I moved out of the house at 19, I was temping for a family friend when I found a job at a Bakery. I worked there for 6 years serving customers and running the store. It was a great experience. Met lots of great people and learned a lot. Went onto the transportation industry from there. Stayed with another company for 6 years, working for 3 different facilities. My knowledge grew and so did my personal accomplishments.
I moved to another city and worked for 6 months at a job I did not like. Moved back home to Dad's for another 6 months, and worked some odd part-time jobs for pocket change.
After a while, my sister and I decided to move across the country, so we packed up our lives and drove out west. I worked fort 2 years in air freight, met my husband, who was transferred down to the USA. I followed. Waited almost a year for my paperwork to finalize, and now I am a permanent resident.
Got my new job just by knowing someone through an old work connection. They had potential business in my area, and asked me to join the team.

And that's where we are at.
Back to work now.

A Dream within a Dream by Edgar Allan Poe

Take this kiss upon the brow!

And in parting from you now,

Thus much let me avow--

You are not wrong, who deem;

That my days have been a dream;

Yet if hope has flown away

In a night, or in a day,

In a vision, or in none,

Is it therefore the less gone?

All that we see or seem

Is but a dream within a dream

I stand amid the roar

Of a surf-tormented shore,

And I hold within my hand

Grains of the golden sand--

How few! yet how they creep

Through my fingers to the deep,

While I weep--while I weep!

O God! can I not grasp

Them with a tighter clasp?

O God! can I not save

One from the pitiless wave?

Is all that we see or seem

But a dream within a dream?

I read this poem at my mother's funeral service. Poe was one of her favoured writers, and this is my favourite poems of his.

I am a Wood Tiger

Chinese Astrology

Tigers are strong but very emotional and sensitive. They can get stubborn over things that they believe to be right or true.
They are lovable, alluring, warm-hearted, honourable, hard-working, pleasant, independant, engaging, dynamic and idealist sweetie pies.
They are aslo rash, hot-headed, reckless, infatuarted, quarrelsome, caustic, moody, predatory, rebellious, disobedient and irreverent rascals.
The wood tiger is more adaptable to working with others and therefore does not demonstrate the typical 'take charge' attitude of other Tigers. The Wood element adds stability, giving them warmth pf character that draws people in and make the Tiger a popular person. They are not selfish creatures and will give their time, attention or possessions to anyone in need.

wonderful life

I am so grateful for the life that I live.
Sometimes I miss people or things that I used to do but that is the past.
At least I experienced those things and have the fond memories of....
I look forward to experiencing new things and meeting new people.
I look forward to everyday with my wonderful husband.
Laughing at old funnies, or finding new ones to enjoy.
Life is wonderful.
I couldn't ask for anything better.

ramble

So now the task of writing ... time to empty my head with the many ramblings that seems to cloud any reason or organized process. I know that is why I talk a lot and can change subjects so quickly without blinking or thinking. Rambling is an easy task for me ... I wish there was a job out there to pay me for rambling; but then I would most likely have nothing to say.

I wake up every morning thinking about the fathom of dreams that have plagued me throughout the night, assessing them and trying to understand what brought them about. Sometimes trying desperately to forget them, especially the scary ones. At times I remember to write them down, but mostly I just think and then forget them. The dreams are all so scattered and make no sense most of the time. Perhaps I should write them down and make short stories of them...? Definite idea there. Another task that I will push to the back burner. Who knows how long I will actually use this blog? I will attempt to keep it going, but my mind wanders and needs several stimulants to keep it's attention. That is why I have so many hobbies. I stick with one for a while, then lose interest and start another. My mother had that habit. Flowing from one thing to another ....

I always want to learn more and more. You cannot learn everything that is offered in this world. No human would ever have the time in their one life to know everything there is to know. It seems that my brain is not fillable, but why can't I remember anything? Perhaps I don't retain enough and it keeps emptying out and that is why I feel the need to fill it back up again? Sounds like pure craziness to me ...? Hmmmm

The mind ... thoughtsneverstoppingalwaysrunningwhereistheshutoffvalve?!?

What do I need to get done today ? What would I like to do ? Where is that thing I was looking for ? Gee, that looks dirty. I should clean. I like the way that material looks. What project should I work on today ? When can I finish those books I was reading ? This tea tastes great. Gotta check emails. Would like to go for a walk. It's nice and quiet. Got some bills to pay. What should I make for dinner ? Is that a bug on the wall ? The plants need watering. The birds are so playful. That shower felt great. Would like to exercise today. My skin is dry. I miss my mommy. I love my house. Will I ever find a job ? and so forth and so on and yateta yateta

What about the thoughts that just find themselves in my brain? Who put them there? I have not idea where a lot of them come from. Too many movies, or books?
Someone I met years ago put an idea in my head regarding all of these thoughts that consume me. This person is intuitive with the non-living (ghosts) and can sense and see things that others cannot. I'm not sure what I believe, but I find it very interesting. She told me at that time, that I have several ... entities/ 'spirits' - whatever you want to call them - around me. When I lived in an apartment that I shared with my cousin, there was lots of commotion going on all of the time - movement, talking, shuffling, etc. After I moved out, she said it was so quiet and empty. It makes me wonder ... do I have spirits following me around ? I have sensed things before....
but that is another topic for another day !
